Highlights and Low-lights

Let's just get the "low-lights" outta the way, shall we?
First:
Mr Mossi woke up Monday morning
(as in in the middle of the night)
with a stomach flu -
swimmy head, achy joints, intestinal issues.
He managed to call in sick, crawl back in bed and
was still in bed when I left for school just before 10 a.m.
If he's sleeping in like that...
trust me, the man is pretty bad off.
It took him til mid-week to begin feeling back to normal.

Next:
Our special order hopper window for the master bath shower
FINALLY came in.
This should be an item listed among the highlights.
NOT!
It was wrong -
for the THIRD time.
We're hoping
(and don't put it past me to resort to praying)
that it'll come to us in the correct size and configuration
before the sheet rock crew starts.

Last:
Mr Mossi has a deep, 4 inch gash on his head.
And he's a bleeder.
No stitches were needed and thank Heaven for that.
How?
He passed through one of the studs walls to get
a tool and snagged himself on the head of a nail.
He may or may not have said a bad word.

So,
how 'bout enough with the downers
and we move on to the
highlights.

This list is pretty short...
or rather,
I'm gonna keep it short, cuz I've got some reading to do.

First:
Our tub deck was installed.
There's actually a wee bit of a problem with it;
like the opening being too small for the base of the tub to fit in.
Yeah.
But we're done with low-lights, remember?
And have I mentioned how much a LOVE Carrara marble.

Next:
I took this list and did a little shopping at Whitehead Wholesale Electric.

When they finished loading everything up for me,
the bed of the truck was stacked and filled just about
beyond its capacity. And the back bench in the cab was filled
with boxes too.
The really great thing was, we were able to use our friend's
dad's contractor account with Whitehead on a cash ticket and
that saved us lots and lots of dollars.
 I love saving dollars.

Last:
Yesterday we got a lot of those things installed.

Switch boxes.

Light boxes.

Metal light boxes for heavier fixtures.

And lots and lots of cans for recessed lights.
We really like recessed lighting.
Installation of these components is a huge, time consuming
effort because they all need to be thought out and
installed at just the right locations.
And although we had everything marked out on the plan, there's still
a huge amount of consideration, discussion and actual measuring of the physical walls,
floors and ceilings before anything is installed.
We went to bed completely exhausted and slept like we'd died.
We'll get the rest installed and start pulling wire this coming week.

Thanks again for stopping by.
Good night and God bless.
