I'm back and I don't know where to start.
I didn't record a single notation the last two weeks.
I'll just quickly rattle things off as they come to me.
And since it's been a full Sabbath and we lost an entire hour somewhere around 2 am and
the day got away so quickly and we're pretty much ready to hit the hay...
I'll make this short and sweet.
Here we go..
I called Dean at his 9 to 5 on Friday, February 28 and suggested that we
skip working on the house that night and go the the Home and Garden Show at
the Fairgrounds and then out for some dinner.
He was compliant.
I say that because he is really feeling pressed to keep things moving along on the Bungalow.
I knew he needed a break.
He woke up earlier in the week with an odd knee ache.
A day and a half later, that ache had traveled to his ankle.
And about a day after that, it made its way on down to his metatarsals.
It's last destination would be the middle finger of his right hand.
All the while, he just wasn't feeling quite up to snuff. I'm pretty sure it was a virus.
I'm positive it was his body begging him to ease up a bit.
He's better now.
The home show wasn't too impressive, but we did have good conversations with
three different central vac company reps and I bought
three pounds of honey bees to be delivered in mid April.
On Saturday, March 1st, Dave V came over and he and Dean, with some help
from Dave's son, Michael, got the gas line plumbed.
This is the stub for the downstairs fireplace.
Then it was back to work on the water lines...
We used approximately 1,000 feet of Pex for the whole house.
The plumbing, as we sit here tonight, is 97% complete; just a few more minor,
but important, details to wrap it all up.
In other news...
I ordered our address plaque.
I only proof read it 10,000 times before finally hitting the "place order" button.
It takes a few weeks and I'm just hoping it's here in time for the stone mason.
Tyler, from Ellis Mill, called with the happy news that the pediment for the front door
was ready for pick up. I had a little breakdown when Dean informed me that it was an inch off.
An entire inch!
The good news is, it's an easy fix.
I looked back to my notes that I'd used to give Tyler the measurements and found
that it was totally MY fault.
I felt like an idiot.
I'm better now, but let me tell you...
I was beside myself with disappointment over that
ONE TINY INCH.
I got it primed, but that fix (trimming the posts that the pediment sits on) can't happen
for a few days.
Hopefully we'll get all the exterior trim on the doors done this week.
And...
the daffodils are up!
This is such happy news.
This Fall I'm going to plant more daffodil bulbs...
so many that next Spring here at the Bungalow
will look like a lovely pastel-yellow daydream.
I know there are things I've missed, but this is the meat of it -
I think, anyway.
Thanks for stopping by.
Your support and encouragement mean a lot to us.
Good night and God Bless.
